Mayoral year – March 2012

March 1st:  We attended the Big Brew at Mossley Methodist Church this morning, the Methodist have this every year and all the donations from the event go to there chosen charity.

In the afternoon I was asked to go to Livingstone School to read a story to the children, because it was book week, we had a great afternoon with them.

March 3rd:  This was our big event of my Mayoral year. The Mayors Civic Dinner and Dance which was held at Westholm Masonic Hall, we had seven civic leaders from Whitworth, Saddleworth , Shaw Crompton, Ripponden, Kirkburton,Holme Valley and Metham, Father Lindsay gave us grace before the meal,the D. J. Gene Giles gave us good music all evening, and we raised £600 for my Mayors Charity Appeal. We had a great evening and my thanks goes to everyone who help to make it a great success.

March 10th:  This evening we attended another Civic Dinner and Dance this time at Shaw Crompton, a great evening was had again.

March 15th:  This afternoon we attended an Easter Afternoon Tea at Mossley Methodist Church, this event was organised by the Mossley Traditional Whit Friday  Committee.

March 23rd:  We had an invite today from M.E.R.A to an Easter lunch & Bingo at the Youth Base at Micklehurst, we met some great people and had a great time.

March 24th;  Today we attended the Cancer Coffee Morning at Mossley Methodist Church, afterwards we went up the road to support the Firemen at Mossley Fire Station as they had a Charity Car Wash, I just helped a little !

March 29th;  We had an invite this morning to a Easter Service at Mossley Methodist Church for the people that use the Church for events over the year,this was a well supported event, and we thank everyone for the kind invitation. This afternoon we held an Easter Afternoon Tea again at Mossley Methodist Church this was to raise money for the Mayors Charity Appeal, it was very well supported and we thank everyone who came.
