662. Minutes

RESOLVED: That the minutes of the  meeting of the Council held on  6th March 2008, copies of which had been circulated to all members of the Council, be approved as a correct record.

663. Invoices for Payment
The Clerk circulated a list of the invoices that had fallen due for payment since the meeting on 6th March 2008, a copy of which is appended to these minutes.

RESOLVED: That these payments be approved.

664. Planning Applications
The Council considered six applications for planning permission which had been received from Tameside MBC for consultation three of which had been circulated to all members of the Council and three which were submitted to this meeting.

RESOLVED: [1]That in relation to the proposed development for 17 dwellings on land to the rear of 1-9 Canal Close the Planning Authority should be satisfied when considering this application that the land to be developed is stable, having regard to the recent landslip effecting a dwelling on Canal Close which has necessitated the closure of the canal footpath. 
                          [1] That the remaining applications be noted.

665. Insurance 2008/2009
The Clerk submitted an offer from the Councils Insurers for cover in 2008/2009.  The offer was very reasonable representing an increase of £65 on last year.

RESOLVED: That the insurance cover of the Council for 2008/2009 be renewed with Alliance in the sum of £1834.27.

666. Lease of Accommodation at Mossley Hall.
The Clerk reported that the lease for the use of accommodation at Mossley Hall contained provision for a rent review after the first 2.5 years and this was due on 1st May 2008.  He stated that the rent review was to be in accordance with the retail price index and in accordance with this index the new rent for the next 2.5 years would be £6370 per annum.

RESOLVED: That the amount of new rent be approved.

667. Date of Annual Meeting

RESOLVED: That the Annual Meeting of the Council be held on Wednesday 14th May 2008 at 7.30pm at Mossley Hall.

668. Parish Meeting

RESOLVED: That the Parish Meeting be held on Tuesday 20th May 2008 at 6.30pm at Mossley Hall.

669. Parish Plan
Councillors Brooks and Leeson updated members on progress on the parish plan confirming that the Mossley Business Association had now been formed.

RESOLVED. That the report be noted and that a sum of £100 be allocated for use by the Association towards start up costs.
