Apology for absence received from Councillor Brierley. 587. Minutes RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of the Council held on 7th March 2007, copies of which had been circulated to all members of the Council, be approved as a correct record. 588. Invoices for Payment The Clerk circulated a list of the invoices that had fallen due for payment since 7th March 2007, a copy of which is appended to these minutes. RESOLVED: That these payments be approved. 589. Planning Applications The Council considered seven applications for planning permission which had been received from Tameside MBC for consultation, four of which had been circulated to all members and three which had been received today and which were circulated at the meeting. RESOLVED: [1] That in relation to the application for the erection of one dwelling house on land adjacent to 149 Stockport Road Mossley the Town Council is of the opinion that this application should be refused on the grounds that the site is unstable and liable to flooding. [2] That in relation to the application for the erection of 17 dwelling houses on land formerly the site of Prospect House Stockport Road Mossley the Council is of the view that this application should be refused on the grounds that the proposals are a gross over development of the site, they are not sympathetic to the surrounding area and will cause a traffic hazard to vehicles and pedestrians using Stockport Road. [3] That the remaining applications be noted. 590. Insurance 2007/2008. The Clerk submitted the offer from the Councils insurers for cover in 2007/2008.He explained that the first offer for renewal had been an increase of over 20 per cent on last year but he had now agreed a revised figure of less than 10 percent which he recommended to the Council for approval in the sum of £1769. RESOLVED: That the insurance cover of the Council for 2007/2008 be renewed with Allianz Cornhill in the sum of £1769. 591. NALC Subscription 2007/2008 RESOLVED: That the subscription to NALC for 2007/2008 be not renewed. 592. Date of Annual Meeting RESOLVED. That the Annual meeting of the Council be held on Wednesday 16th May 2007 at the Methodist Hall at 7.30 pm. 593. Parish Meeting RESOLVED: That the Parish meeting be held at the former Mossley Town Hall on Wednesday 23rd May 2007 at 7.00pm. 594. Parish Plan Councillor Leeson reported that the collated information collected in connection with the Parish Plan would be available for the Council to consider at its June 2007 meeting. RESOLVED: That the report be noted. 595. Councillors Brierley and Etchells The Chair stated that Councillors Brierley and Etchells were to retire from the Council at the local elections in May and paid tribute to their service to the Council and the local community in Mossley over many years and particularly to the Town Council since it was formed in 1999. RESOLVED: That this Council places on record its thanks to Councillors Brierley and Etchells for the valuable services they have provided to this Council since 1999 and to the wider community of Mossley over many years and expresses its best wishes for the future.
