Present:  Councillors Anderson, Aylett, Brooks, Caldwell, Carter, Dossett, Leeson, and Milne. 

Apology for absence from Councillor Jones.



596. Appointment of Chair

RESOLVED: That Councillor M Milne be appointed Chair of the Council for the municipal year 2007/2008.

Councillor Milne then took the declaration of acceptance of the office of Chair.

597 Appointment of Deputy Chair

RESOLVED: That Councillor R Brooks be appointed Deputy Chair of the Council for the municipal year 2007/2008.

598 Minutes

RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting held on 18th April 2007, copies of which had been circulated to all members of the Council, be approved as a correct record.

599. Dates of Meetings 2007/2008

RESOLVED: That the dates for meetings of the Council in 2007/2008 as set out in the report of the Clerk now submitted be approved with the substitution of the date of the June 2007 meeting by the 19th of June instead of the 13th of June.

600. Appointment of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Mossley Town Council for Municipal Year 2007/2008

RESOLVED:
[1] That Councillor Marie Milne be appointed the Town Mayor of Mossley for the municipal year 2007/2008.
[2]That Councillor Roy Brooks be appointed the Deputy Town Mayor of Mossley for the municipal year 2007/2008

Councillor Milne then signed the declaration of office as the new mayor.
